Who is the Millennial Generation?
Millennials or sometimes also called Y generations are a group of people born after Generation X, those born in the 1980s and 2000s. So this means millenials are young people aged 17-37 this year. Millennials themselves are considered special because this generation is very different from the previous generation, especially in matters relating to technology.Generation of millennials has its own characteristics that is, they were born at the time of color TV, mobile phone also internet has been introduced. So this generation is very proficient (mahir)  in technology.

Milenial (Generation Y) is generation  disruptive era of technology that born  between 1990 until now. Millenial era  often emphasis style. They use technology (color television, internet, smartphone).
Millenial era be signed by VUCA ((Violence, Uncertainty, Complexity and Anxiety =Kekerasan, Ketidakpastian, Kompleksitas dan Kegelisahan).  Some characters of people era milenial (era now) are tend  (cenderung ) to be lazy to read ... less critical thinking ... high level of ignorant (cuek), either to the subject or teacher / lecturer .. quickly bored (bosan),  .. the ability of listeners are minimal .. easy disturbed things trivial (remeh)  .. difficult to focus .. etc ... ".

How did we do in this era?  We should  adapted ourselves with era, have technology skill.
How to approach  millenial students?

Millenial Generation easy to confusion (gampang galau)
  1.  Personal approach  (Engage Personal Emotion): Listen them, invite them as friend.
  2.  They Need and like to listen a story! (Start your class with story that excited them)
  3.  Begin with End Mind (“Tell the Consequence” & Tell the ‘finish’ line)
  4.  Learn their Trend  (Film, Songs, Trending Tropics, etc)
  5.  Open and start your class with ‘question’ and ‘discussion’
  6.  Give more “HOPE” and positive story/things about their future (Indonesia)
  7.   LISTEN with Heart! Not just Hear..
  8.  Create Collaboration—Not Confrontation
True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around usSocrates

** Response of teacher:
Ms Ibeth (Vice Principal - from Philipine): Teacher must know  the objection material, book supplement only.

3 major problems facing millennials generation compared to baby boomer generation and generation X.1. Generation millennials do not communicate. This generation lives under the shadow of technology, iphone, email, or phone. Survey says 66% of leaders from generation X and baby boomers primarily communicate directly (in person) while millennials generation more primarily communication via text, sms and other communication tools.

Millennials want to be heard and do not want their ideas to be ignored. This generation is a collaborative employees, they ignore the hierarchy within the organization. They chose egalitarian and teamwork. Essentially they do not like orders by the bureaucratic system. This clash with the previous generation who saw hirakhi is a thing that must be run strictly. So many generations of millennials are opening up their own business as a form of resistance to the system.

Millennials generation need a reason. They do not accept all policies and decisions for no good reason. This generation is rebellious with old things that have no basis. The google engine that at all times gives them answers so as to form a different mindset with the previous generation. These three main traits require new leadership and management styles to optimize the role of millennials generation.
